Not Jennifer Aniston But Actress Jane Krakowski First Auditioned For Rachel Green's Role From FRIENDS
While we have adored actress Jennifer Aniston as Rachel Green in the popular and iconic sitcom, FRIENDS for years, now comes news of an actress who had also auditioned for this most loved character from the sitcom before Jennifer Aniston. It is Fatal Attraction actress Jane Krakowski who had auditioned for the role of Rachel Green. Uh Huh! You read it right; the competition to bag a single role in this most celebrated sitcom was a big deal back then in 1994.  While some got lucky, some like actress Jane Krakowski moved on to their next.

As per reports in PEOPLE, Jane Krakowski revealed auditioning for the role. She said, “I’m pretty sure every actor within that age group tried to get on Friends. It was just one of those shows that everybody wanted to get an audition for and be on. And wisely so. It was a show of a generation.” She further adds, “I may have gotten the job for Jennifer’s first audition, but I think it’s turned out pretty well for her.” Jennifer had initially auditioned for 1984 Search For Tomorrow which later went to Jane. Jane also feels sitcom FRIENDS was a total winner for Jennifer and it worked well for her.

In the latest news, makers of this sitcom were planning for a reunion which was scheduled to hit the OTT platform  HBO MAX, by the end of Summer 2020. However, due to the lockdown imposed in many nations due to COVID-19 pandemic, makers have pushed ahead of the release of this reunion to fall 2020.

Bob Greenblatt, chairman, Warner Media Entertainment and Direct-to-Consumer, confirmed the news. As per reports in Variety, he said, “But at the moment, we’re trying to look to the future and get this thing done in a more conventional way, and I think it’s worth waiting for. We would have loved to have had it on [HBO Max on] Day One, but at the same time, if we can get it launched in the fall, I think it’ll be something that we can have the audience really looking forward to as well.” ALSO READ: Jennifer Aniston For President, Say Fans After Star Shows Middle Finger To Coronavirus; 'Der COVID You Can Kindly F**k Off'
